I put this instrumental ensemble together to resemble the Surrealist game of "Exquisite Corpse", where incompatible ideas run into each other to create alternate realities. Much like the sewing machine and umbrella on an operating table, I combined pedal steel guitar, renaissance instruments, violin, electric guitar, piano, synthesizer plus ethnic and industrial percussion to create unique hybrid sounds and compositions. It was my fifth release on SST. Released 1994.

Judith Cohen Stanton: 5-string evelctric violin, violin
Dan Stillman: Shawms (alto, bass), sackbut (Renaissance trombone), foreman's voice.
Roger Miller: guitars, piano, samples and sequences, percussion, JX8P Synthesizer, recitation.
with Rich Gilbert: pedal steel guitar on 2,3,4,5, and 11.

Unfold was recorded at The Chicken Loft, Cambridge, MA. December 1992-May 1994.

Le mésozoïque...c'est combien de millions d'années ça? J'ai un blanc de mémoire. Ça fait trop longtemps que je suis sortie de ma technique minière. La roche de l'Abitibi a environ 2.7 milliards d'années. C'est l'une des ceinture de roche les plus prolifique en mine dans le monde.
